Gérard Frémy, who passed away on the 19th January this year, taught at the Paris Conservatoire from 1985 to 2000. A pupil of Yves Nat and Heinrich Neuhaus, he was a fervent supporter of contemporary music, performing with ensembles Ars Nova, Musique Vivante and the Stockhausen group. He gave numerous first performances. He was considered to be one of the principle exponents of the John Cage legacy. This concert includes several of his students paying homage to this great artist and teacher.
