Trio Brancusi, Fête du Violon, Saint-Jean-du-Doigt, Finistère
15.05.2016

In the Finistère spring violins come to blossom as well as the flowers. The Brancusi Trio gives a concert at the joyful Fête du Violon that has taken place for the last 10 years in the village of Saint-Jean-du-Doigt near Morlaix on the stunningly beautiful North Finistère coast.

The Brancusi Trio is performing a programme of Classical and Romantic music to round off the day at the Fête du Violon in the church of Saint-Jean-du-Doigt at 5.30 pm. With both the depth of Beethoven and the virtuosity of Sarasate, the violinist Ann-Estelle Médouze takes the lion's share of the programme. Laura Buruiana's cello also takes the floor with Mendelssohn's sublime 2nd cello sonata before the Trio finally unites for Brahms' powerfully Romantic opus 87 C major trio.

In the village square, from 2.30 to 9 pm, you'll also be able to hear the Balkan music group Pavan Takin, the folk music Ploun fiddle Band, the Yuna and Alain Léon violin and guitar duet, as well as our resident and celebrated traditional music violinist Christian Lemaître. Last but not least the grand violin assembly alos in the square at 4.30 pm that brings together players of all levels and ages, amateur and professional alike.
