Ferenc Vizi

A bright start to the New Year for Ferenc Vizi: on the 12th January he gives an all-Schumann recital in the Salle Bleue of the Espace Croix Baragnon in Toulouse. On the 14th January at the Théâtre de Narbonne, the 15th at the Théâtre Saint Bonnet de Bourges and on the 5th February at the Cratère in Alès he performs a 'Fantasy' recital programme - Haydn's Fantasy in C major Hob. XVII/4, Schumann's Opus 17 Fantasy, Mozart's C minor K. 475 and Chopin's F minor Opus 49 Fantasies, followed by Liszt's 'Après une lecture de Dante' - all perfect opportunities to discover the unique talent of this refined pianist. Ferenc can also be heard on France Musique at 12.30 pm on the 14th January in Arièle Butaux's programme « d’Une Rive à l’Autre », a live concert recording in the Petit Palais in Paris with the latino-jazz singer and guitarist Servane Solana, and the guitarist Gilbert Clemens.
Last but not least, Ferenc Vizi will be giving a recital at the Salle Cortot in Paris on the 12th February where he will play Bach's 6th French Suite, Mozart's Adagio in F minor Kv 284 B flat major Sonata Kv 333, as well as Beethoven's 6 Bagatelles Op. 126 and Op. 111 Sonata.




Nathan Braude

For many people the discovery of Nathan Braude is nothing less than a revelation. With an already impressive body of repertoire, this young viola player has been described in the press as '…virtuosic, expressive, vibrant and refined'. A student of Nobuko Imai, Carol Rodland and Kim Kashkashian, Juventus Laureat since 2008, you can discover his incredible sound at his concert in the Théâtre de La Ville in Paris where he will perform Penderecki's 'Cadenza for solo viola' and Brahm's sonata for viola and piano Op. 120 N°2.




London Haydn Quartet

The London Haydn Quartet returns to France on the 16th January at the Salle Agnès Varda in Juvisy near Paris, where it will perform quartets Opus 17 N°6 [Hob.III.30], Opus 20 N°4 [Hob.III.34] and Opus 76 N°1 [Hob.III.75] by their eponymous and naturally preferred composer.

If you have not yet had the opportunity of hearing this exceptional period instrument quartet, it is high time to do so !




Graf Mourja  

The new recital programme of this immense violinst is not to be missed. Graf will be accompanied by the young and brilliant pianist Evgheny Brakhman in a programme of works by Brahms, Ravel, Gershwin and Bartók on the 3rd February at la Passerelle in St Brieuc and on the 6th February at the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris.



Quatuor Takács

The opportunity to hear Beethoven string quartets performed by one of the world's great string quartets sounds like an invitation to paradise. This very opportunity can be snatched up on the 15th January at the Opéra de Lille with quartets Opus 18 N°5, Opus18 N°4 and Opus 132, on the 17th January at the Théâtre Saint Louis de Pau with Opus 18 N°4, Opus 59 N°2 and Opus 132, and finally on the 23rd January with Opus 18 N° 3, Opus 59 N°2 and Opus 127 at the Takács Quartet's annual rendez-vous at the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris.




Barry Douglas & Camerata Ireland

Following their immensely successful first concert at the Grand Théâtre de Provence in 2008 with a programme Mozart Concertos, Barry Douglas and Camerata Ireland return to Aix-en-Provence with an all-Beethoven programme - Concerto N°2 in B flat major Opus 19, N°3 in C minor Opus 37 and N°5 in E flat major Op. 73 ‘L’Empereur’. Barry Douglas and Camerata Ireland have a highly acclaimed recording of the complete Beethoven piano concertos on our Satirino Records label.




Elena Rozanova

On the 19th January Elena Rozanova will give a recital of music by Rachmaninov and Mussorgski at the Grand Auditorium de Caen. This is part of the 'Récital du cœur' series and organised in favour of the 'Association Autisme Basse-Normandie'. The generosity and intelligence of Elena's musicianship thus serves a great cause.






Major Event ! On the 11th February, at the Madrid National Auditorium, Juilliard Baroque makes its European concert début. The Juilliard School in New York has recently created Juilliard Historical Performance program, bringing together some of the most prominent period-instrument performers, scholars, and teachers in the world under the leadership of the violinist Monica Huggett. Juilliard Baroque, comprised of these faculty members, and also students for this its future large projects, has chosen Bach's Six Brandenburg Concertos as its inaugural programme.




Fretwork

The celebrated viol consort Fretwork performs a programme of works by Martin Peerson and John Milton with the countertenor Michael Chance on the 16th January in the Clothworkers Concert Hall at the University of Leeds.




Dominique Visse

It is in a new production of Handel's Agrippina, directed by René Jacobs and staged by Vincent Boussard, that Dominique Visse again takes up the role of Narciso at the Staatoper in Berlin with performances on the 4, 7, 9, 12 and 14 February.
Following this, Dominique enters a completely different musical world with the Ensemble 2E2M, the singer Vincent Bouchot and stage director Mireille Larroche at the Péniche Opéra for Maurizio Kagel's 'Mare Nostrum'. The first two in a long series of performances are on the 19 and 20 February, and of course on the Péniche Opéra's barge on the Quai de Loire in Paris.
