Marc Coppey undertakes the considerable challenge of playing all six of Bach's solo cello suites in one performance. This exceptional artist, winner of the Leipzig Bach competition at the age in 18, returns to pay homage to this cellists' musical Everest, a work that Marc Coppey has been performing since his childhood.
But this is also a musical monument in an exceptional architectural monument - the Chapelle de la Trinité in Lyon, a remarkable example of Baroque architecture, perfectly suited to the spirituality of Bach cello suites, and ideal for this three hour musical, physical and audiovisual adventure.
The performance can be viewed on Arte Concert as of September 1st until 2nd February 2016. Press announcement available via this link.
